Measuring Climate Success the Way We Measure Economic Success with Laura Beaulier (Climate Dividends)
What if we also valued companies that succeed for the climate? That’s the ambition of Climate Dividends: to create the equivalent of a financial dividend… but for climate impact. Not to reward those who “pollute a little less,” but those deploying solutions that enable others to decarbonize.
Take a heat pump, for example. Its manufacturing has a carbon footprint. But once installed, it allows households to avoid far more emissions than it generated. This positive value—too often overlooked—deserves to be measured, standardized, and recognized.
In this new episode, Laura Beaulier, co-founder and CEO of the non-profit association Climate Dividends, shares the genesis of this collectively-born project, made open source and non-profit by conviction. An ambitious initiative, designed to transform the way we measure success—and therefore finance it.
