Esg criteria (environmental, social, governance)

Daphni aims at being both a responsible investor and a responsible company.

Daphni signed up to the Charter of Commitments for Investors in Growth edicted by France Invest.

Esg criteria in our investment strategy

The Esg approach is entirely consistent with our investment philosophy. We believe that the inclusion of non-financial criteria is essential to create long-term value for our investors, our interests and our partners.

Some sectors are strictly excluded from our investment strategy, according to the By-Laws of the Fund.

Certain connections exist between Esg and our deal flow: collaborative consumption (transport), environment (air quality), healthcare (sleep), new infrastructures (telecommunication, agriculture), quality of life (food, culture)

In accordance with anti-corruption and anti-money laundering legislation, Daphni Purple doesn’t invest in non-cooperative countries or territories.

Esg criteria towards the portfolio companies

We expect to integrate the principles of social, environmental and governance (Esg) issues in our due diligence process.

We encourage companies that we follow to adopt best practices, within the framework of minoritary investments.

Our due diligence process includes:

  • social criteria: diversity of backgrounds among founders and employees, sharing the value created…
  • governance: diversity among the board members, independent members…

Previous criteria are periodically followed through the boards.

We also value geographical and cultural diversity among our portfolio companies.

Daphni aims at supporting the portfolio companies during their growth phase in order for the Esg criteria to be promoted over time.

Esg criteria inside Daphni

Daphni is a very young company, so its Esg policy is not yet fully mature.

Some characteristic elements:

  • 13 employees at Daphni, including 6 women;
  • diversity of ages, backgrounds, education;
  • the Daphnipolis, Daphni’s community, amplify the geographical and cultural diversity of our project.

Information to our investors about esg criteria

We provide our investors with a quarterly update through the Daphni Purple reporting.
