Sweat, Bonds, and Donations: Daphnipolitans Complete Techbikers 2023

Hi folks,

This monday, we had a hard time getting back to the office, we’ll explain why.
Last weekend wasn’t a relaxing one for our Daphnipolitans. You might have thought it was an all-night party, but it was more like an all-weekend ride. Yes, “Techbikers Cognac to Bordeaux” was back! 🚴

What does it mean? Let’s say 3 days, more than 250 km of cycling (for those who get lost..), 15h on a bike saddle, and circa 30L of sweating!

A little reminder also for those who don’t know Tech Bikers’ organisation: this is a networking event born in London gathering people from the tech ecosystem around an unforgettable & crazy ride in support of a great association Room to Read (helping young children in need with literacy and gender equality). Many good reasons & motivation to give our best, isn’t it? 💪

The Covid stopped us for the last 3 years, but we were not ready to give it up one more time and we decided to onboard in this new crazy edition our dear friends Korelya Capital as co-organisers and Comet, as sponsor. So last Thursday, April 13th 40 members of the daphni community took the train towards Cognac for the beginning of the 2023 edition.

Here we are! After having enjoyed the city (and some Cognac tasting from the famous Camus House), we started on Friday on this ride with only one  objective in mind: reach Bordeaux. The pelotons were forming, it was the opportunity to learn more about those with whom we’ll spend the next 72 hours.

During the route, we took the ferry, crossed vineyards, ride with strong wind and rain, cycled in the middle of pine trees and on the seaside. So yes, it was a BIG effort, but above all, we created so much bonds, because effort & challenge gathers people and make great memories.

We finally reached Bordeaux by noon (for the fastest) on Sunday! YES, we made it! we were so proud to have done it, each at his own pace.. Last but not least, we are really proud to have been able to raise more than 15€k for the NGO Room to Read, which makes our actions even more meaningful.

Wanna be part of the next Edition? Just send us an email and we will put you on the list for the next one!

Da Yours,
The daphni Team
