Animaj is shaping the future of kids animation

Let’s take a moment to go back to childhood… and cartoons, which are among our sweetest memories as kids! 🧒 Generations evolve and the classics we used to watch are no longer really in vogue, but Goldorak, Totally Spies and SpongeBob will forever be in our hearts!

Among this revolution, a top talents team composed of Sixte de Vauplane, Gilles Gaillard, Jemuel Durand, Gregory Dray and more launched in May 2022 a one-of-a-kind project  called Animaj. This digital entertainment company for children acquires, creates and distributes children’s videos on Youtube channels and video-on-demand (SVOD) services. Its goal is to enable the next generation of independent creators to realize their best stories. Using technology – in particular AI – to become the leading media company dedicated to children and families worldwide, that’s the challenge facing this French startup!

This week, Animaj has just announced a crazy €100M round combining debt and equity from XAnge, Motier Ventures, Left Lane Capital, Resonance and daphni. A big success that allows them to acquire POCOYO (what a milestone!), a series that has shaped the childhoods of thousands of children and moreover the leading IP of children’s animation in Spain. 

Investor since the seed round, we’ve held this secret until today… 🤫 We’re now more than happy to officially welcome Animaj in da family!
